Frantically Searching for Fall

I am a northerner living in the south and I so miss the fall months in the northern New England states.  There was nothing like the week or so of an Indian Summer, when the uninvited cold disappeared for awhile and let us enjoy summer for a few more days.  Picking apples, apple cider, passing pumpkin patches and the beauty of the leaves changing and falling.  As a kid, raking leaves into a pile and jumping off the porch into them was great fun.  As an adult there is nothing like the first morning you walk outside and smell the crisp autumn air.  On our property in western NY our home sat at the bottom of a hill, so upon walking outside you saw magnificent color.

Don't get me wrong SC is my home, but I wish I could bring the fall to the South, even if it's only for awhile.
